“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.”

Psalm 145:4-7

JV & Varsity Ministries
JV: 7th - 9th Grade Varsity: 10th - 12th Grade
Whether you grew up in a Christian home or have never set foot in a church, adolescence can be a time of questioning what you believe and why you believe it. We want to come alongside parents in ministering to their children for the purpose of creating a hunger to know and follow Jesus Christ as His disciple
Every-other-Sunday (during the school year), the Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity students gather together after the Sunday Morning Worship Service for lunch and fellowship. Adult volunteers then have the privilege of walking through Sunday's sermon with the students - with particular emphasis devoted to applying the words of Scripture to our lives.
Additionally, the students also gather together throughout the year at special events designed to cultivate friendships and community

Youth Ministry Objectives

We aim to provide an environment wherein discipleship and training are carried out, beginning with parents. We believe Scripture teaches that parents have the primary responsibility to reach their children with the gospel (Ecclesiastes 12:1; Ephesians 6:1-4), and to teach them the truths of God so that “they should put their confidence in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments,” (Psalm 78:5-8; Proverbs 22:6; Deuteronomy 4:9, 6:7). We also believe strongly that the church should help in this endeavor by equipping and assisting parents when needed (Ephesians 4:11-13). Our primary goal is to come alongside parents in ministering to their children for the purpose of creating a hunger to know and follow Jesus Christ as His disciple. (Psalm 27:4, 8; 42:1-2, 63:1-8).
We aim to partner with parents in hope that each ADBC child will know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior by:
  1. Supporting parents in training their children to become mature followers of Jesus Christ
  2. Supplementing parents’ roles in developing Christ-like character and applying God’s Word to the challenges of life.
  3. Inspiring children to strengthen their personal relationships with the Lord through worship, prayer, Bible study, Scripture memory, and a life of devotion.
We aim to promote servanthood as the primary means for children to be actively involved in the life of the church (Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:11-14) by:
  1. Training children to make a difference through meaningful servanthood in the home, church, and society, being careful to guard against sending children to do service before they have demonstrated the qualifications necessary.
  2. Motivating and equipping children to participate in the Great Commission by following the example of their parents and the church leadership
We aim to protect children from common sins that are obstacles to Christian maturity such as:
  1. Resistance and rebellion to authority (Ephesians 6:1-3; 2 Timothy 3:15; 1 Samuel 15:22-23; 1 Peter 5:5; Romans 13:1-7; Ephesians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:13-17; Hebrews 13:17)
  2. Peer dependence (Luke 6:40; Proverbs 13:20; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 1 Kings 12:8-10; 2 Kings 2:23-24)
  3. Unbiblical attitudes and actions in male and female relationships in the church (Matthew 5:22-28; Titus 2:4-5; Colossians 3:18-19; Ephesians 5:22-34; Proverbs 4:23; Acts 15:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6; 1 Corinthians 7:1; 1 Timothy 5:1-2; Hebrews 10:24)
  4. Disloyalty and gossip in the church (James 4:11; Proverbs 26:20-23, 20:19, 11:13, 10:18-19)
