The foundation of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ, and its code of guidance in all its affairs is the Word of God. We affirm by faith that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of Almighty God.

Historical Faith

We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

We believe in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born of a virgin, Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended into Hades, and on the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  From Heaven He shall come to earth again to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, one holy Christian church, the communion of all true saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the gift of everlasting life.

Evangelical Faith

Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) — We believe that the Scripture alone is our ultimate authority, since it alone is without error and God-breathed. The Word of God is the only complete and sufficient Word for all things pertaining to life and godliness.

Sola Gratia (Grace Alone) — We believe that all men have sinned and therefore, stand (naturally) condemned before God. Thus, all men will be resurrected (both the saved and lost) and judged. Therefore, salvation is entirely of the grace of God and is not caused by any merit of our own. In this gracious salvation the convicting, regenerating work of the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.

Sola Fide (Faith Alone) — We believe that men are justified by faith alone and not by works in addition to faith. Yet, the faith by which we are saved is a living faith which works through love. It is preserved through the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, minister in the Body of Christ, and evangelize the lost.

Solus Christus (Christ Alone) — We believe our Lord Jesus Christ to be both God (fully divine) and man (fully human), virgin-born, and sinless. In His earthly ministry He performed great miracles demonstrating the truth of His messianic claims. His death for us was sacrificial and completely atoned for the sin of all who believe. He was gloriously raised from the dead in the same body in which He died and ascended to the right hand of the Father. We believe in His present, as well as future victorious kingdom, and in His visible, bodily return in power and glory. There is salvation in no one else since He alone provided for our righteous standing before a holy God.

Soli Deo Gloria (To God Alone Be the Glory) — We believe that there is one God Who eternally exists in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The triune God of Scripture is unlimited in power, all-knowing, and present throughout creation but not limited by it. In all things He is limited by nothing other than His own nature and character. He is holy, righteous, just, good, loving, and merciful. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Governor of everything that has been made. Thus, we are to live continually before His face, consciously bringing every endeavor of life under His Lordship. Therefore, His glory alone is the final purpose for all things.

Worldview Faith
  1. We believe the Bible (defined as the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21). It is objective truth (John 17:17)!
  2. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14), all of whom are the same in substance, equal in power and glory; and this Tri-unity (or Trinity) created the Heavens and the Earth (Genesis 1:1-2; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 11:3), in the span of six days (Genesis 1:3-31).
  3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14; 8:24), His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23), His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), His miracles (John 2:11), His substitutionary death and successful atonement (Isaiah 53:6,10-11; I Corinthians 15:3), the imputation of our sin to Him and His righteousness to us (2 Corinthians 5:21), His resurrection (I Corinthians 15:4), His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Acts 2:32-36), His present reign as King (Matthew 2:1-2; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28), and His visible and bodily return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11). He is the only way, the embodiment of truth and life eternal (John 14:6; 17:3)!
  4. We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the sinfulness of human nature, so that men are justified by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (John 3:3-7; Romans 3:23; 5:1; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-6).
  5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ shall one day raise the dead bodily (John 5:28-29), on the Day of Judgment (Matthew 25:31-46), both the righteous and the unrighteous; at which time, the righteous shall forever see the face of Christ in unhindered glory (Revelation 22:3-4), while the unrighteous shall endure endless punishment (Matthew 25:46).
  6. We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:20-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28).
  7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling ministry the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:9, 11, 13-14; I Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18).
  8. We believe that marriage was instituted by God, and is a covenant between a man and woman alone, as one, before God (Genesis 2:24-25; Malachi 2:14-16).
  9. We believe that Christian mothers and fathers are to see their children as "gifts from the Lord" (Psalms 127-128), whom they are to bring up "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:21). Children are to love, honor, respect, and "obey their parents in the Lord, for this is right" (Ephesians 6:1-3; Colossians 3:20).
  10. We believe that every aspect of our lives is to be lived for the glory (or honor) of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:20; 10:31; Colossians 3:23).

Supplemental Confessional Statements & Doctrinal Statements

In addition to our primary confession of faith, the elders commonly reference additional statements as supplemental documents, and we ask that church officers, as well as all who teach at the church in an official ministry, hold to a general affirmation of these statements.
